Introduction

Hello and welcome to our class page. We are the Seedlings and we are taught by Mrs. Jones and supported by Mrs. Devlin.

Learning for this term

Happy new year! We are super excited about our new topic 'The Vikings'. We will learn about the geography of where the Vikings came from and where they settled, as well as the history of Viking life and beliefs. Please enjoy reading our Curriculum Map for the Spring Term 2024. You can also find out more about what goes on in Seedlings class by reading our Spring Term Newsletter.

Forest School

Every alternate week, we enjoy our Forest School session with Mrs. Jones, on-site in our Secret Garden. During forest school, we have the opportunity to connect with nature, learn forest skills, take risks and work on important character traits such as resilience, perseverance, communication, creativity and team-work. Plus, we have a lot of fun just getting muddy!

Examples of learning

Taking risks in Forest School with a barefoot walk.

Foraging for blackberries at the community orchard and tasting the yummy blackberry and apple crumble that we made.

Connecting with nature in our own Secret Garden.

Here is our Curriculum Map for the Spring Term 2023. Our topic this term was called Around the World. We learnt all about our amazing world by jetting off on a very big trip.

In the academic year 22-23, we enjoyed trips to Peak Wildlife Park, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Buxton, as well as inviting lots of visitors such as the History Van and the police into our school, in order to enhance our learning. We also had a blast at our annual class sleepover!
