The Federation has a detailed Strategic Plan which is formed each year based on our School Evaluations. Our evaluations are based on a detailed monitoring programme, supported by our Governing body. The plan is formed for the Federation - below is the latest Federation Strategic Plan:

Our plans from October 2018 to October 2019:
- Further develop Writing and Reading
- Implement and develop Maths Mastery
- Offer a Curriculum with expanded provision
- Focus on the development of ICT, Arts and Character Education
- Support the development of our recently qualified teachers and senior teachers
- Ensure all pupils make good progress, including Disadvantaged, SEND and Able Pupils
- Further improve the effectiveness of the Federation Governing Body
Our plans from October 2017 to October 2018 were:
- Further develop Writing, Maths, Phonics and Spelling across the school
- Further develop collaboration between Thornsett and Newtown Primary Schools and with PEGS (cluster schools) and consult on possible Federation
- Ensure all pupils make good progress, including Disadvantaged, SEND and Able Pupils
- Extend astroturf, install climbing equipment, improve playground line marking
- Invest in more outdoor play equipment
- Ensure PFA continues to support the school successfully
- Introduce even more robust assessment tracking - including Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling termly assessments
- Develop an even better channel of communication with parents and introduce Tapestry for EYFS
- Provide information meetings for parents on Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling
