At Thornsett, we offer a wide range of clubs for children to participate in. Children and staff are encouraged to suggest ideas for clubs and we are always on the lookout for new and exciting ideas. The range of clubs available often changes during the year to ensure a large choice is provided. Clubs take place at lunchtime and after school. The majority of clubs are run by school staff and are free of charge. A few clubs are run by external private providers where charges apply.

Sewing, dance, recorders and guitar
Peak Active Sports, Fun Fitness and School Newspaper
Tuesday after school is FILM Club
Thursday after school is Drama Club
Friday after school is Peak Active Sports

We are the only school in New Mills (and only one of three in the whole High Peak area) which offers FAST Club every year. This is a programme with the following endorsement:
FAST is an U.N endorsed early intervention programme with a DFE 4-star rating for a parenting programme and a level 4 strength of evidence rating, (Multiple high-quality evaluations (RCT/QED) with consistently positive impact across populations and environments), awarded by the Early intervention Foundation, the programme has also been awarded the CANparent quality mark. The Quality Mark is the only quality standard that has been developed for the parenting sector, by the parenting sector.
